[Fixed r1856] Invalid parent id, after uninstalling FC

After uninstalling flexicontent component I get an error saving articles.

invalid Parent ID

My only option is to reinstall joomla from scratches.
do you have any suggestion ?

this indicates a problem with the category assets

during uninstalling FLEXIcontent is restoring the category assets of top-level categories, maybe something went wrong there

reinstall from scratch ?

it is fixable by rebuilding category tree assets

it seems that Joomla at some "recent" update of J2.5.x and J3.2.x added cleanup for ACL assets pointing to the component being uninstalled

this is a change in behavior in recent Joomla versions
(since at some point close to our latest official release)

so the assets are deleted before the point that FLEXIcontent tries to restore them !
(so we had implemented proper/tested restoring of the assets)

will provide a fixed version for this

we are sorry for the inconvenience but responding to such changes in behavior is difficult, if you are a developer i am sure that you can understand this

if you have trouble using Joomla's rebuild then we can log on your site to do it for you
