[supported for all ...] Checkboxes for filtering in frontend

Hi,

first of all thank you for this wonderfull Joomla extension. I tried several other cck's, but no one of the others was so powerful and simple to configure.
I just wonder, if it is possible to use checkboxes as a filter in the category view of Flexicontent?

What I tried:
I just assigned checkbox-fields to my articles with one characteristic. For example restaurant: yes, bakery: no, location downtown: yes, location not downtown: no.

In the frontend the filter is displayed as dropdown-menu. Except this everything is working as I want it. For example filtering the articles for all bakeries in downtown.
Is it possible to exchange the drop-down-menus to checkboxes?

All fields that can be filterable have multiple appearances:

-- configure this in the field configuration
(bottom right)

NOTE: you can have different configuration for
- category view (and category like views)
- search view

Supported:
- drop down select
- drop down select RANGE
- text search (yes text search input for filter)
- text search RANGE
- date picker (*for date/created field)
- date picker RANGE
- checkboxes with scroll and instant filtering of checkboxes (scroll and filtering appear if you have 10-15 or more values)
- radio options
