Hi all,
I am having the usual problem with articles in frontpage that open directly in frontpage.

I know that, by design, the articles will open inside the frontpage automatically. For this reason I created a new menu item for the "news" category.

But the problem is still here.

Can anyone help me please?

The site is www.adidogane.it

Thank you for your support.
Alex

Hello

i don't understand what you mean with

"open directly in frontpage"

(you may (or may not) be asking a common question, but your description is misleading)

you want the items to open in new TAB/Window when clicked ?

Sorry for not being clear in my request.

I refer to the behavior also described here:
www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=15...62142&rb_v=viewtopic

If you visit my site and click on "leggi tutto" (read more) of the frontpage article, you will notice that the whole article opens inside the home page (instead of opening in a new page of the site, as I want).

Hope I was clearer this time :-)

Hello

you items do not open inside the frontpage
= the above is true because after clicking the content item the "HOME" menu item is not active

so what do you mean / want ?

e.g. to make items

- open in new TAB / window ?
- or open showing just item content and nothing else (no modules, no menu, etc) ?

Hi,
if you look at the link of the article in front page, you will find:

www.adidogane.it/item/241-la-nazionale-d...-a-6-in-francia.html

Instead, I want the link be as follow:

www.adidogane.it/news-adi/item/241-la-na...-a-6-in-francia.html

with the indication of the category "news" in the url.

If you try to open the two links you will see different behaviours: I want the second...

Hello

1. your home menu item points to a FLEXIcontent category

2. in FLEXIcontent category view the item links will prefer the menu pointing to current category, so the homepage menu item is selected

e.g. in your "news" menu item, pointing to a category, you see that the item links click activate it, same thing happens for home page menu items

Solution exists is in our FAQ and is old:
How to use an FC category as Homepage / Frontpage

... see STEP 2 which is "exclude category from routing" = do not include in item links, do create category links to it
