Search articles in more than one category

Good morning,

Assuming I have the following categories:

- Songs
- Movies
- Books
- Children
- Adults
- Christmas
- Summer
etc.

Obviously I will allocate articles to different categories...

But what I'm now trying to find a way to search/display articles belonging to more than one category, i.e. "Songs" AND "Christmas" or "Songs" AND "Christmas" AND "Children.

Can anybody help?

1. enable usage of categories filter in your categories, by default it will show the subcategories of current category, (go to component parameters, enable filters in CONTENT LIST tab, and also select to include categories filter, or select none filter to include all filters)

2. either create a multi-category menu item, and display the categories filter

3. or configure / display FLEXIcontent filtering module and display the categories selector

4. or use the advanced search view and display the categories filter,
(you will need to mark category field as search view filterable)

Thank you for your reply, but the subcategories filter is of no use in this case as I forgot to mention that I need to display items from total different categories (not in same group).

If I go back to my example, I have categories lets say three categories with each having sub-types:

Content type:
- Songs
- Movies
- Books
etc…

Target audience:
- Children
- Adults
etc..

Theme:
- Christmas
- Summer

I need to be able to display, for example "Children christmas books". If I use your suggestion of multi categories menu, I get all items from each sub category…

Any other suggestion to achieve this?

display a FLEXIcontent filtering module and configure the category selector in it (... category selector of module is more configurable than categories field)
