Hello,

the relation field targets items, so a filter to select individual items made little sense and it was not implemented (it can be but currently it is not)

can you explain the usefulness of relation field being filterable, e.g. user want to filter this because ...

Hello,
sorry to be late.
In fact, with FLEXIcontent, I would like to set up a directory of African businesses to provide informations to potential investors interested to settle in the continent.
I created a category "country" in which I entered the names and business information (type in article) of the various countries of the continent.
I created a category only "Business" in which I want the members who have ACL rights to register their business and thus appear in the directory. In the form of insertion I used several fields, including a field named "country" using the plugin "relation." Until then everything goes well. The recording, insertions in the template too.
Now, in front-end, I parametered to display field "country" in the category "Business" and item view view. it goes well too ... and if the user clicks on it, it is redirected to the article which gives information about this country. The as it works perfectly.
But I want to give the possibility to the user WHEN IT is this category to filter only the information that the interested countries, and I'm stuck ...
I hope I was pretty concise ...
thank you

Hello

v2.1.0 r1733 (you can use just changes to filtering module are not 100% done/finished)

but why you say filtering for relation field ??

maybe you mean filtering for categories field? (this is also improved in v2.1.0)

I want to filter the items in the category "business", by the "relation" field.

For example I have a full category as follows:

item title | description | country | photo |
item 1 | bhgvtydvjg | Japan | img1.jpg |
item 2 | bkughbkuvb | Japan | img2.jpg |
item 3 | miopybvvct | USA | img3.jpg |
item 4 | bviycjtcjc | Grece | img4.jpg |
item 4 | bkyvfkvyfi | France | img5.jpg |
item 5 | bybgoyboyb | Japan | img5.jpg |

I used as I've said the "relation" field for countries items.
I want to, when you're on the business category only, with the view filter (drop down menu of countries) display only items depending on the country (hence the country field) selected.

may be my English is really bad. loool.
I can post in french?

Hello,

Ok i see why a filter for relation field will be useful in your case. This will be added in v2.1.1 (1-2 months ... max), or maybe much earlier,

just currently it is not available

Regards
