Users adding content . Default item type and category

Hi,

Is it possible to allow registered users to add an item of a specific type and assign to a specific category.

When users add content I do not want them to be able to specify which item type or category the item belongs to. I want this to be set by default.

Yes use acl permission to do it
Create groupe
Allow add item perssion for this group in your specific categorie
To hidde select list category block change categorie acl ...
Maybe you need some other tricks ... try it

do this by using ACL as micker said

1. about limiting a user to a specific category , give to his/her usergroup -create- privelege to only a specific category , if you want exactly one category per user then also create 1 user group per user
2. about limiting to specific content type, there is a new ACL permissions in v2.0.1 for the Content Type the:
"create items"
-- this exists in v2.0.1 but it is not used, it will be used in v2.0.2 (probably) or in v2.0.3

Using the acl permissions I am able to limit users to adding content of the specific catedgory.

However I am still unable to limit them to being able to create a specific item type. I have selected the item I do not want users to be able to create and have denied the users the ability to create the item through the permission. But when the users select add new content, they can still choose the item from the dropdown box???

Effectively I would like a solution so that categories can only have items of a specific type.

To create item for specific Type and category
1) create menu item type with item submission form
2) select Type in Required setting
3) select category the item belongs to in Basic options
