Hello,

using 2.0.1, I've create a Directory view on a menu item. I was expecting to see a tree of the sub-categories but I only see the first two level. I've tried to play with the configurations without success. Am I missing something? Is it a correct behavior for the Directory?

Thanks

The categories :

The Directory view ("Help" is the root category, "KB" and "Level 5" subcategories aren't displayed):

Did you check option in your root category
Display all sub... ?

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

I just went into the configurations looking for this parameter and I didn't find it. Is it suppose to be in the Directory menu's parameters? Or in the linked category?

It's not in the Global config:

And here's the parameters for the menu item, which are the same available in the category parameters:
[attachment=0:wds5aal2]<!-- ia0 -->cat-options.JPG<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:wds5aal2]

There is a "Start to add parents categories at depth" parameter for the directory but it is for the breadcrumb, so I'm kinda stuck.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the Directory View only has two levels.
Coded that way.
To change this would require modifying core code.

You could use an output override (view=flexicontent).

Hello,

there is a miss-understanding, there is no bug,

our Directory view always showed the first 2 levels.

Going further down the tree was not done for several reasons:

1. Layout gets confusing to frontend user you present a tree to him of many levels, this is not user friendly, 2 levels are already too much for most users

2. Layout gets ugly when having many nested levels and displaying images too poses a problem

3. Maybe small performance consideration, remember we count assigned items and sub-categories

Besides once a category is clicked, the category opens and shows other subcategories of it with (count of items, category image , category description) and this with configurable layout (v2.0.1)
e.g. see here:

Example of using prefix/suffix/separators/etc, e.g. placing subcategories into columns

Best Regards
