Hey there,

Using 2.0.1, I have some problem with template layout override. I'm trying to test different category layout from a menu using the same category/articles but it always seem to take the category template layout and not the menus. From the Category form, I expected the rules to be:

Full overriding order for category view is:
Global
Menu (1)
Category
Author (2)

My setup :
Categories:
MyRoot [template = default]
- article 1 [type = article]
- article 2 [type = article]
- article 3 [type = article]

Menus
. Category - Blog view [Category = MyRoot, selected layout override = blog]
. Category - default view [Category = MyRoot, layout override = default]

Article type
. the "Allow item layouts" list is blank, so it should apply to all templates
. "Default item layout" is set to "::default::"

The problem is that the "Category - Blog view" menu item display the default layout even if I set the override to "Blog". It only change to Blog if I change the layout into the category and then, it change it also for the other "Category default view" menu.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

In order to use to override the template layout via the parameter in menu,

you need to

1. "Enable Category Parameters" override near the top of menu parameters
2. Leave all other settings to "Use Global" , thus category view configuration will be used
3. Set the layout that you need

Regards

Ahhh, got it! I saw the two "Experimental" parameters and my eyes just skipped this section:

Working as expected, thanks again for your quick support.
