I'm getting this error message when I try to call up stories that I have posted on my site since installing FlexiContent Saturday:

Fatal error: Call to a member function redirect() on a non-object in /home/temporary1/worldnewstrust.com/components/com_flexicontent/models/items.php on line 160

The above error message shows if the user is not logged-in. If the user is logged in, the error message is a 403 or 404 error message.

I am using NewsPortal on the front of the site, and the Joomla headline module. Error messages were appearing intermittently on stories from the front page that were posted prior to installing FlexiContent. That was before this morning when I started getting this error message when I try to call up a FlexiContent story from the front page or JomSocial:

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

* This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

However, FlexiContent stories are showing fine on the MyBlog component.

I'm also using JomComment and AceSEF.

Any idea what could be causing these error messages? I figure I don't have things configured properly yet.

I found the problem.

I had unpublished the old sections and categories. I re-published them, although I don't display them anywhere. Now the FlexiContent stories all show everywhere they should, without error messages.

The category lists are displaying nicely, too.

Unfortunately, the problem returned within an hour. For some reason, re-publishing my old sections and categories caused the items to appear for a brief time, but now I am getting 403 error messages again (when logged in) and this message when not logged into the site:

Fatal error: Call to a member function redirect() on a non-object in /home/temporary1/worldnewstrust.com/components/com_flexicontent/models/items.php on line 160.

I'm wondering if something didn't go right with the automatic categories setup. Are you aware of any potential configuration problems with MyBlog or JomSocial?

One of the things that has me stumped is that the first story I posted after installing FlexiContent is showing fine now, although at first I was getting error messages for that story also.

Crikey!

I've been using the Joomla Content Manager to post stories. When I use the FlexiContent Items page editor, no more error messages. :D

I got the idea from another forum post today that mentioned posting stories from FlexiContent sted Joomla.

Hi,
Code:
Call to a member function redirect() on a non-object...
is really a bug :(
Edit components/com_flexicontent/models/items.php
On line 128 add:
Code:
global $mainframe;
And sun will shine again :)

Cheers,
Emmanuel.
