How do I get a basic blog layout?

I'm enjoying both FLEXI products (I purchased access after taking content for a test drive) and I think FLEXI will help me achieve everything I want to accomplish on my site.

But somehow I can't figure out the most basic thing: How do I get the normal blog layout?

Sometimes images tell the story best...

What I want is when a visitor clicks a menu item they see a normal blog layout. Like the Joomla "Articles » Category / Blog" menu item result.

It should show the title, author, date, etc, as well as the image and some intro text, then a Read more. And then the next article. I can't get this to work on FLEXIcontent.

Here is an example of what I want using legacy content. When a user clicks "Blog" from my main menu the Joomla "Articles » Category / Blog" pulls everything from the Joomla category Blog and all its sub categories:

I can't get this result with FLEXIcontent.

Here are some of my FLEXIcontent categories:

You can see I have articles assigned to the main category as well as the sub categories.

Here is the menu item I created called "FLEXI blog root test" using the menu type "FLEXIcontent » Category":
[attachment=0:ro9lweb6]<!-- ia0 -->menu-FLEXI-category.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:ro9lweb6]

And here is the result:
(I can only upload three attachments, so the result will be in the next post :D )

Please help the last screenshot look like the first using FLEXIcontent!

Thank you very much

And here are the results:

I feel like I'm missing the most basic thing here! It's probably so simple that I'm missing it.

I figured out how to do what I wanted.

The way to control the view of the category layout is with the category template. I knew it was obvious!

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?
