[SOLVED] About SEF URLs, possible to remove /item/ segment

Bonjour,

www.site.com/nomdumenu/item/17-titre-de-mon-article.html

www.site.com/nomdumenu/titre-de-mon-article.html

Merci d'avance :-)

Hello

your question is covered here:
Creating shorter/nicer SEF urls and structure of item URLs

the item number is a requirement for FLEXIcontent component URLs and cannot be removed.

to remove '/item/'

you can go to component parameters, (click 'configuration' button), and inside the first TAB, scroll down to find URL / SEF options
and select to remove it.
-- it will be removed if: '/nomdumenu/' is a menu alias of a category, or if it is: catId-catAlias

please,
note that if you do not create menu items for your categories, then you will get URLs like:

/nomdumenu/category/catId-catAlias/

Hi,

Many thanx for your fast answer. So now, half of my problem is solved, this is great news.

Just being curious : why isn't this option to remove "item/" set by default ? I mean when is it interesting to leave this in the URL ?

About the other half of my problem, I saw that someone asked if there was a possibility to rewrite the URL, maybe using the htaccess file, to remove this "17-" part.
I liked the idea but I'm not a specialist… Maybe this is non sense ? Or could it be possible ?

Thanks again !

Code:
please, note that if you do not create menu items for your categories, then you will get URLs like: /nomdumenu/category/catId-catAlias/

also this option is new in v3 before it FLEXIcontent item URLs were always having /item/

Not sure I get what it means…
Does it mean I can get rid of the catId ?

Hello

catID and fcitemId

are like Joomla category / article URLs

they can be removed if you created menu items pointing directly to them
