flexicontent upgradation issue

Hi,

Hope you are remembering our last discussion ( www.flexicontent.org/forum/index ... =viewtopic ), so am trying to upgrade the flexicontent component with your newer version and am getting this error, that is.. initial permission error..

Invalid parent ID. Problem for asset with id: 69 Problem for category with id: 279(RACER of the Year)

Now I have gone through every forums related to it but no helps from there exactly. So let me know how can I make it work?

One more thing, shall I do something like this, in case above error won't be solved through any helps, like uninstall flexicontent component and rebuild category and menu and then install newer component, am not sure, if this will work or not.

Looking forward for your kind response, please remember I have already checked many forums related to this topics but they won't help me out.

(i guess you are upgrading to v2.2.0 r1895 right ?)


this category is in invalid state for some reason


currently, if you uninstall FLEXIcontent you will get the FLEXIcontent data tables deleted (there is no option to keep them), so don't uninstall

instead
- go to plugin manager, and filter by type "system" to list the system plugins
- find plugin "System - FLEXIcontent" and click to edit it
- find:
URL redirections /
Exclude from category redirection (BACKEND Only)

- Select to exclude the super admins, and save the plugin

- then go to Joomla category manager and click to rebuild the categories
(do not edit/save any existing categories via Joomla category manager because the extra FLEXIcontent category parameters will be lost, but publishing/unpublishing/copying will not give any problem)


if the above does not resolve it then you may send me a PM with super Admin login and with site URL

Hi George, This is Robert now. Brad is our Lead Developer and wrote the previous post. We tried to do as you said before but we are still having an issue with asset ids

one other note is that these article ID's are pretty critical to us as we are using a disqus plugin and the ID's are used to manage the comments.
