You can try removing some of the filters from the category view,

i will try to test sooner , and if some feature is heavy e.g. (item counting) i will disable it for next release.

and also give me
1. link to frontend category view that shows the slowness
2. category id
3. if you have removed some of the filters, then also tell me exactly which filters you used so that i can re-add them temporarily !!

i have fixed to performance of filters
(do you want to test updated files of v2.0.2, i think they will work in v2.0.1 too?)

and as a bonus i got time to optimize main SQL query of category view it is now 20x faster when having 10,000 items in a category

ok no pb, where can I dl the files ? I'll test it on my server, and if all ok, I'll put in on webserver to let you see.

NOTE, this updated files give 30x or more faster
1. category view main query
2. category view filter creation
in large sites (category view with 10,000+ items, with less items you will see e.g. 3x-15x faster times)

(Nevertheless, we have some a thought do a parameter to , disable item counting per filter value in larger sites 50,000 per category or with sites with many visitors, also some thoughts of more optimization)
