Tried all the sitemap extensions on JED- a review

These are the four extensions on the JED in the sitemap section.
Qlue Sitemap - does not work - creates a sitemap of all the administrative links
JCrawler - Works but usually hangs us the website during the process
Xmap - Does not work
Easy Keyword Sitemap - Works but is dependent on metadata usally empty
fwSitemap - Does not work

I have seen a few posts about support for xmap.
I think it would be useful to look at alternatives rather than trying to get everything done with the joomla extensions.

It would be incredibly easy to use an offline sitemap generator instead

This sitemap is created with Xmap.

The current Xmap plug-in for FLEXIcontent only works on J1.5.
It will not work on J2.5 without substantial updates/modification.
Xmap plug-ins are now normal Joomla plug-ins on J2.5.

Right now I am doing some of the conversion/update work.
- Have converted the XML file to J2.5 format
- Now adding language support

When this is done I will check to see that it installs properly.
This will help as some of the update "busy work" will be done.
I will test it to see if it works at all.

BUT it is highly unlikely this plug-in will work properly without additional updates for J2.5.
I know it will need updates for the new J2.5 ACL features.
And probably other updates for the new nested categories.

After I have confirmed it installs properly I will make it available to Georgios.
He has a very looooong ToDo list so I do not know when or if this plug-in will updated.

You could have someone update it for you now and contribute it back to the project.
I will have already done some of the time consuming busy-work,
so a more knowledgeable programmer should be able to update it relatively quickly.

Expect to have the busy-work done within the hour,
so I can make it available to you then if you want.

Take your time, do it when you are free! The site will not die if it does not have xmap in it. I really appreciate the committed effort from the core team to make every other extension on the JED compatible with Flexi Content. I like the attitude of the developers who never say "That is not my job- because that is not my extension". So i wish you put all the efforts into the Flexi Content development. I am really waiting for the new update, i just wanna see what changes you are gonna make. I have seen radical changes made to the extension in short jumps. The thrill of what's gonna be in the next version is very exciting.

Wholly carp!
It looks like it actually works.

Would you like to be a tester?

UPDATE: Georgios is fixing all the stuff I did not see or did not know how to fix.
