Child categories ordering not respected for items in FC Universal Module carousel

Hello,

here is my situation:

I have correctly set a parent category and a number of children subcategories inside it.
I then ordered the children categories in the FC component, so as to show them the particular order I wanted.

Here is an example:

Parent category ID 16
- Child category A (order 1) ID 41
- Child category B (order 2) ID 38
- Child category C (order 3) ID 36

Then, I created a Universal Module using carousel layout.
In the "Item List: Select Items" tab, under "Advanced Filtering > Category scope", I set "Static Method: Include" and then included the three child categories as ordered in the component (A, B and C).
In the "Item List: Basic" tab, I selected "Ordering in current category" in Item Ordering Level 1

The problem is that the module does not order the items in the children categories according to my preferred category order, but to the IDs of the children categories.

What settings should I change in order to have the items show in the order corresponding to the category order I set?

i am not sure that i understand you
- ordering in current category will order items inside the same category if you display items from multiple categories then you shoud not use it
