JCE editor - Have to open up access just to create link...

So when using JCE editor (latest versions Component 1.5.7 & Plugin 1.5.6) a user can NOT use the link button unless you give them access through the Backend & Specific Group Access Control.

The problem with this is they then have access to edit anything about the JCE Component. Is there something that can be done so that a user can use the functionality of the JCE editor without having to give them Backend Access to edit the component?

Maybe I do not understand well your question but when you give (or not) acces to a functunality in JCE for a group of users the users do not need to have access to the backend. The backend is only needed to edit the contents from flexicontent. That's all

In order to use all the features of the JCE editor (like the link button in the editor) - you MUST give the user or group that the user is in access through the Backend & Specific Permission settings for that particular group.

The problem is they then can go into the JCE component by hovering over Components - this allows them to change settings or mess something up.

They should be able to use the editor without me having to give them Backend & Specific Permissions.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

I do not want groups to have access to the JCE Component to edit the settings but they need to be able to use the functionality IN the editor when adding/editing articles.

Is there a rule that can be created that allows the groups to use the editor's functionality (like creating links, managing images) without giving them full access to the component in the Admin Control Panel?
