Mail notification on a specific date using cron

I’d like to create FLEXIcontent items with some text fields and a date field called “expiring date”.
The date could be filled with FLEXIContent Calendar plugin.
What I need is to know if can be easily integrated an automatic mail notification to a FLEXIAccess group (or for the current user) in a specific date.
