Hi Nico,
What do you mean by assign a field to a category?
* Assign the items fields depending an the cat instead of the type ?
* Allow to extend category table with fields ?

I Think of extra fields arround the blog items in the category.

So that when you edit a category you can also change e.g. the header field because it is a field that you can use in category view and detail view.

I think the best way would be a third template layer for categories that you can assign fields to.

Hi

my solution was to have a special template for each category I wanted to have a special display. Is it not enough for your needs?

Off course you can do anything with a blogviw and some modules, but my idea was not use modules instead of that I would like to have fields in the blogviw to have e.g. a header image or an adress block etc..

Maybe its possible to render the blogview inside an flexicontent artikle.

I think it´s more customer friendly to not let the enduser admin in the modules area.
