Error. Unable to upload file

When trying to upload an image I get the following error:

Error. Unable to upload file

Looking at the server I see that the image is uploaded to components/com_flexicontent/uploads

I expect it is a config error on the server as all works well on my localhost

Joomla version 1.5.12

What type of file?
FLEXIcontent (and Joomla) must be configured to allow the particular file type, if it is not already an allowed file type.
If the file is not an allowed file type, it will cause an error.

What is the file size?
FLEXIcontent (and Joomla) must be configured to allow the file size.
If the file is larger than this size restriction, it will cause an error.
This may also be affected by your server settings.


Note: You should update Joomla immediately.

Quite odd.

Above you say:

So the file did actually get uploaded?
Or not?

Could be an issue with the file itself.
Joomla does have a mime-type check for security.
I have seen a less-than-reputable template vendor actually put PHP code within a GIF file.
Can you attach the file in a ZIP so I can test it?

Can you upload any files?
Have you tested other files and file types?

It may be a compatibility issue with Joomla 1.5.12.
FLEXIcontent is only tested on current versions of Joomla.
You really need to update ASAP.
Security issues, compatibility issues, etc.

I have tried multiple files of various types.
I don't beleive the error is related to the Joomla version as it works perfectly under MAMP on localhost, the error only appeared when I transferred to a live server via a JoomlaPack backup and restore.

The file is actually being uploaded to components/com_flexicontent/uploads/ (and appending a unique number, eg filename.gif, filename-1.gif, filename-2.gif) but the item page displayes the attached error.

I have attached some screenshots, thank you for your assistance.

Could be an ownership/permissions issue.
The uploads folder is used for the Secure directory option.
Is there any reason you need to have this GIF in the secure folder?
Have you tried the Media target directory option instead?

Could be an issue with the version of PHP on the live server.

Upgrade Joomla and see if it goes away.

Cannot replicate this issue.
So I am out of ideas.
