Bug: Pipe "|" character not allowed in Suffix Fields

This is confusing me.

I want to use some component inside FC and from what everyone suggested we should use the plug-in trick.

so in the prefix we add:
Code:
{gmap view=map|id=
in the default valuewe add:
Code:
1
and in the suffix we add:
Code:
}

the result is this:
Code:
{gmap view=map|id=1}

The problem is that everything is deleted after:
Code:
{gmap view=map|

The problem is that the suffix and prefix do not allow the pipe symbol. I have tried like this:
Code:
{gmap view=map|id=1}
and after I saved it recognizes the ASCII code as a "|" but in the front end it doesn't work.

I have search in the database for the table so I can add it manually, also I couldn't find this table.

Any help is welcome.
Thanks in advanced.

Joomla 1.5 use the pipe character for multi-valued parameters so you can not use it

A workaround is to add a slash \ before | every time you save the field

Possible another solution is to convert these 2 parameters to textarea ?

We have an issue open for this
code.google.com/p/flexicontent/i ... ail?id=401

any opinions?

the "\" is a possibility. The textarea to. I gona test this.. :geek:

EDIT: the "\" works fine, but every time you enter in field config, you need put the "\" every single time.

yes you have to re-add the slash \ before the pipe every single time you save the field, i mentioned this in my previous post

I think we should change field type to textarea (of course without WYSIWYG editor), since value-prefix, value-suffix parameters, are used often, for placing plugin code.

Will do this ...
