Showing an image in a tool tip

I'd like to show a Flexicontent image within a tool tip. Assuming that I can append the class 'hastip' to my item, how can I pass through the HTML? Is there a simple way to do this?

Could I use a 3rd party tooltip plugin? How would I call it to insert the code?
