How is Navigation workin'?

Hi everyone!
I've just started using FC1.5.4(first on my local) and added the navigation field. But the problem is I can't understand how does it choose? It is showing some items that are not in same category, or they're not in sequence in that category. And the question is:
How is it working?

you can exlude navigation by type of content it's simply
and the navigation is in same category simply too

I don't want to exclude any content types.
In one category, I have 8 items ordered from 1 to 8. But the field is not guiding through items by order. In fact I don't know by what it is sending me back and forth in the category.
