Fatal error: Allowed memory size

I have my php.ini memory_limit set to 32m but I'm still getting this error when trying to install beta 5...

Yes. I tried installing the file locally and from a url and neither worked. I can install beta 4 fine tho.

The beta5 package is 20% bigger, that may explain the difference.
Try to unzip the pack in the tmp directory and then run it with the "install from a directory" method.
This should function as the unzip process consumes a lot of ressources.

I had exactly the same problem, even if my allowed memory is a little bigger than yours, and I could resolve it installing the beta5 from the tmp folder in joomla
