Simplifying Menu Manager

When you want to add a new menu item - does it annoy you that you see a whole lot of choices that you don't want to make.

Or clients want to click "articles" instead of FLEXIcontent? Who uses weblinks? Tags?

Hide them all or only some:

Here's my fix:
1. In administrator/templates/isis/html/ - copy the zip file folder structure into the html folder.
2. Find the offending section you want to remove and remove it with css:
Code:
.h-articles {display: none;}

3. Inspect the element you want to remove and find the css class:
eg Users Manager - the corresponding css will be:
h-usersmanager
3. To get you started this is already added:
Code:
<style type="text/css"> .h-articles, .h-configurationmanager, .h-contacts, .h-newsfeeds, .h-callender, .h-wrapper, .h-search, .h-tags, .h-weblinks {display: none;} </style>

Add or remove whatever you like in the file.

great propose maybe include in core ?

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Hi,

I have revised this file to simplify menu manager.

In the Outer Menu Options:
Code:
.h-articles, .h-configuration-manager, .h-contacts, .h-news-feeds, .h-callender, .h-wrapper, .h-search, .h-tags, .h-weblinks, .h-privacy, .h-users, .h-smart-search {display: none;}

Then for each of the inner options:
Code:
/*INNER FLEXICONTENT*/ .h-flexicontent .h-1, .h-flexicontent .h-2, .h-flexicontent .h-5, .h-flexicontent .h-6, .h-flexicontent .h-7, .h-flexicontent .h-8, .h-flexicontent .h-9, .h-flexicontent .h-10, .h-flexicontent .h-11, .h-flexicontent .h-12, .h-flexicontent .h-13 {display: none;}

i didn't think its a good idea ... we can't hide other component with css... if user want to do it he need to desactived component its better

I find it easier to use as its not possible to deactivate com_articles or tags. Plus all my clients need to do is add FLEXIcontent Content item.

It's based on hick's law:

lawsofux.com/hicks-law

The time it takes to make a decision increases with the number and complexity of choices.

I believe strongly in building client templates:
magazine.joomla.org/issues/issue-nov-201...-the-client-template

So - hiding choices they're not going to use makes sense to me. Its not for default Joomla users or administrators.

yes i know this ... but we can't oblige user ... or maybe an option to load css ( a plugin can be cool)
