[SOLVED] Front end editing causes /// to appear

I am trying to encourage my users to use the front end for adding and editing content. The problem is whenever there is an apostrophe ' or a quote " (and possibly other characters) there is a / added every time the article is opened. The only way I can get rid of it is to open the article in the back end.

Thanks.

Stephanie

Hello

i can not replicate this,

- does it happen with frontend editing, or with backend editing too ?
- which HTML editor are you using ?
- you can create a 'textarea' field with name: text_{typealias} to customize the description per type, have done this ? if you have check configuration of this field too

Hi ggppdk,

It happens in the fronted editing only. I can clean up all the data in the backend but that is tedious.

I have tried none, TinyMCE, CodeMirror and JCE. Each produces the same results. I have even set the field to "simple textarea" and it does the same thing.

I have not created text_{typealias}

This happens with all text fields regardless of their type and category.

It happens whether the article is created in the frontend or backend.

I don't know when this started because I have only just started using the frontend editing feature.

Thanks.

Stephanie

I just tested it.... and yes it does the same thing.

Every time I save the article it adds another \

I should correct my title for this thread because it is actually a \ not a /

Thanks
