Search module and the URL it leads to

hello, when I use the search input in the module, I'm taken to a /search page and if I search for the same phrase on the search page, I get /search?searchword=ss850&searchphrase=all&areas[]=flexicontent

the thing is, each one of those searches will only retrieve 1 result (I use the search exclusively to search for a unique project code) so I was planning to later on create a redirect for each of the search terms so that they lead directly to the project details page. but the way the module behaves makes it impossible. any way to solve this?

Hello

i don't understand
and the difference in urls is ?
an extra URL variable ?

Yes, imagine I use the module to search for "searchterm" and it takes me to a results page:
Code:
http://domain.com/search
but if I use the form on the search page, I get
Code:
http://domain.com/search?searchword=searchterm&searchphrase=all&areas[]=flexicontent

In the first case it's impossible to create a redirect to go straight to the item and skip the search results page featuring just one result.

Hello

when you submit search form,

the search URL is created, i don't see how this can be different, we use GET method to have distinguishable URLs,

maybe we could remove 1 or 2 variable is the have the "default value"

This is what happens on the site I'm currently developing. It's not caused by the template override, when I delete it the behaviour is the same. You've got the dev URL in the PM I sent you the other day, the search module is published in the footer.

Any ideas as to why the form in the module doesn't generate the same URL as the form on the search page?
