Hello

Joomla does not do it, and FLEXIcontent does not do it either,

this due to cost to calculate this,

e.g. you will need 30-40 seconds for 2,000-5,000 items

this is because the ACL privileges use component/category tree/item heritage

instead the view access levels are used to decide which items to list,

- what maybe possible and useful, is to list according to owner

Mmm maybe there are other options

How costly would be to calculate the categories the user can´t edit/publish and add this to the item query?

Another option: removing from the list when the link/not link is calculated?

Hello

calculating
edit / edit.own
AC: privileges for category tree, this is a reasonable time, but it is not proper to use it since individual items may define ACL privileges too overriding the category heritage (hard-deny cannot be overriding though)

anyway this will not be changed, unless Joomla provides or recommends a way to do it

- what is possible to do, is to enable showing only the OWNED items, and to super-admins show ALL

Maybe its a acceptable solution showing only the items based on category tree, it its a configurable option (leaving the individual permissions as they are now, disabbling the editing)

I´ll take a look on the "only owned items" possibility

Thanks!

Hello

maybe a backend filter or selector:

Show Items
  • My items
  • Item i can view
and a configuration parameter what to allow to the user, allow both the above or just 1 of them
