Hi all,

Let's say there is Book Category.
Book Category
|_Book A
|_|_Book Z
|_Book B
|_|_Book Z

I want users to create items for last sub-category only.
On the Menu Manager, I know that I can manage categories scope for item submission. In this case User can not see category tree.

Current setting on menu manager:
Enable override-> yes
Displayed Categories -> multiple selected
Submit item in -> Single
Default Main Category -> Top Category choosen

What I want is Users can see all category tree set by Default Main Category but some of them are greyed out. User only can select categories are from Displayed Categories in Menu Manager.

I hope this is not time-consuming .
Thanks in advance.

The proper way to do this, is using ACL, for the user group of your authors, only give create permission to the last level category,

this way the will be able to see all category tree but only assign categories to the last level categories

Okay, Thanks for your reply.

Edit:
Is ACL available for joomla 2.5?

Hi micker,

Thanks for your reply.

I am currently using FLEXIcontent version 2.0.0 RC9 (r1514)
Will I be able to use FLEXIaccess 1.0 - Full Package with FLEXIcontent version 2.0.0 RC9 (r1514)?
It also states that Flexiaccess works on Joomla 1.5 only.

I just wanna make sure it is compatible with current version I have.
Thank you.

You don't need FLEXIaccess in J2.5, FLEXIcontent v2.0 for J2.5, uses J2.5 ACL
