Hi,

I have my items in 2 languages. They are mapped to their original version. I also have my 2 menus (one for each language) set-up. And all my menu item are associated with their counterparts.

When i'm on the front-end and click on the language switcher, i get the right equivalent of the page i am viewing in the other language as long as i am in the joomla core component such as weblinks, home page and contact. But as i soon as i am in FLEXIcontent, i always get an error as follow:

Associated menu for 345: 345,346
Joomla language switched associated menu items that did not point to current content: Doing FLEXI switch
*** Language switching category no: 39

And category no: 39 is the category i was in before i switched languages.

I double checked the menu items and they are correct, both are associated together, and both are pointing to the correct category.

What i noted is that if i click the browser back button to come back to my original page and click again to switch language it works. But it does not work the first time. I also doubled check that the language switcher module is set to "all language" and that its cache is disable.

Does anybody have the same problem?

Thank you in advance.

ps: site is running J 2.5.7 and FC 2.0.0 RC9 (r1514)

This message is not an error message it is a debugging/information message did you enable language switch debugging messages in FLEXIcontent system plugin

Hi ggppdk,

yes i had the "Debug Language Switching" enabled in the FLEXIcontent advanced route plugin.
But it was still not pointing to the correct item or category on the front-end after i disabled it.

So i played around a little bit and to my surprise, i fixed my issue by disabling the "Switch Items" and Switch Categories" settings in the FLEXIcontent advanced route plugin.

I said surprising because the tooltip for these 2 settings are explaining exactly what i want to do: item switch to their counterpart in the other language. But it's only when i disabled them both that you could switch items or categories between languages properly.

I'm glad i finally managed to make it work, but i'm puzzled as to why i have to disable settings that are supposed to be enabled.

Either i'm still drunk from last night :) or there is something to check here, no?

You have associated 2 menu items that to FLEXIcontent items?

I'm not sure what you mean.

For example: i have a category called "info" and its counterpart in Vietnamese. And in my main menu English i have a FC menu item pointing at the info category in english. And i duplicate the menu item and placed it in the main menu Vietnamese and changed the language to Vietnamese as well as associated with its english version.

So until i disabled the "Switch Items" and Switch Categories" settings in the FLEXIcontent advanced route plugin i had the issue of no showing the correct translation.

So your 2 joomla associated items point to 2 categories of different language?
