content-users relations

Hi, I'm new to FlexiContent. Can I use it for managing relations between users and content items (types).
For example let's say we have a type of content (articles) called "cars". All users should be able to use their edit account form for selecting several cars.
It's not about the user's rights over the articles of the" cars" type. I'm talking about relations that could be handled by a user field allowing multiple selection. The user's cars would show up on his/her profile page. The cars could be used as a filter of the users listing. And when searching a car model, all the users having this car would be included in the search result.
Is this something that FlexiContent can do ?
So far all that I can do with Flexicontent is managing relations between content types (not content-users relations).Thank you for your opinion and your advises.

yes you have 2 ways to do this
1 create a group field with image texte ... and allow to add more thant 1 grouped value.
2 create 2 types and create a relation field to "link" type of content

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Hi & thank you for the quick response.
About way 1, I managed to create a group field called "group-of-cars" containing a text field called "groupable-car-name" and allowing multiple values.
Now I'm not sure about how I can add "group-of-cars" as a field in the user profile edit page ?

About way 2, I managed to use a relation field between two content types : "Cars" and "Car brands". But that's just for tests purposes.
What I want is relations between a content type and the user profiles. For example, I want to store relations like : User 1 has a "car 1". User 2 has no car. User 3 has a "car 1" and a "car 2".
So far I can not set such relations from FlexiContent because I can not create a type that applies to the users. All I can do with types is assigning them to article categories. Am I missing something ?
Do I have to set these relations with Joomla's user fields instead of FlexiContent's fields ?
If so, is there a documentation explaining how to use Joomla's user fields in a way that's compatible with FlexiContent's types ?

If somebody wants to take a closer look at my test website, I installed it online and I can provide the credentials in a private message.
Best Regards

Hi. Thank you Micker
I created the type Profile (with no default main category).
I created the profile field( Field type : "User Profile (Joomla, Community Builder, Jomsocial, etc)" ).
Then when adding a new item of type Profile, the "Profile (details)" tab shows me this warning : « The Joomla plugin needed for this field seems to be unpublished. Please publish it ».
Yet, "Extensions > Plugins" shows me that the plugin " FLEXIcontent - User Profile (Joomla, Community Builder, Jomsocial, etc) " IS published.
Do you know what I am doing wrong ?
