make first image in article retrievable by a Gantry 5 particle

Because Gantry 5's API only supports images tat are added to articles via de core Joomla image fields (intro and full), inline images ar completely ignored, making it impossible to display / load article images in certain Gantry 5 particles.

Interestingly, there's hardy any difference between the render versions of inline images and those that are added through Joomla core image fields, but I suppose that Gantry probably looks them up in the database, and not in rendered markup.

Is it possible to use in FC the default Joomla article image fields or recreate them somehow, so that Gantry's particles can find them?

Any help is much appreciated.

Hello

yes
you can configure the image-gallery field to set
- the thumbnails of its 1st image as Intro / Fulltext article images

e.g. the small thumbnail as intro and the medium as fulltext image

Install via URL (will make a stable release out of it soon)
(you need PHP 5.6 or later !!, will fix / test PHP 5.4 soon)
