Hi!
For example we have site with main page

www.somesite.com

FC in code displays canonical link for this url with slash at the end

<link href=" www.somesite.com/ " rel="canonical" />

and base URL too

<base href=" www.somesite.com/ " />

How to fix it?

Hello

this is not a problem for Google or other search engines
do you have an official page from Google guidelines saying something different ?

Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite having a long list of functions) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Read here

webmasters.googleblog.com/2010/04/to-slash-or-not-to-slash.html

So Google can treat them differently on if you have 2 pages:

-- one with
Code:
<link href=" www.somesite.com/ " rel="canonical" />

-- and one with
Code:
<link href=" www.somesite.com " rel="canonical" />

if both pages
www.somesite.com/
www.somesite.com/

are using / their rel-canonical
then it is not a problem

I know that search engines thinks that url without slash is page

www.somesite.com/page

and with slash, as directory

www.somesite.com/directory/

So, I think, if server configured to displays main page without slash, so rel="canonical" and base href should NOT have slash and vice versa.

Yes, may be I'm paranoid, but when you building site second year - you need to check everything.

I also VERY waiting for tag merging with Joomla system, endless pagination and reviews system with ratings.
And I want to buy FC Pro. I want to be first. :P
Thanks.

Hello

actually i agree with everything you said

just the slash indicates a directory but when the URL is queried you get an HTML document, so search page will not think at the end it is a directory

indeed it is best to remove
and should be trivial (very easy) too, doing it
