Automatically timestamp a field?

I have a frontend form that includes a field for notes. This field allows multiple values, and the client would like each note timestamped. I want to avoid adding a Date/Time field (which would also have to allow multiple values), as it adds more complexity. Is there a way to auto generate a timestamp to the new note when the form is updated/submitted?

Hello

thus the timestamp feature would work like this:

- if date field is empty load current time and make it readonly
- enforce value on server validation (item form saving)
- value will be unchangable, thus user will not be able to save it by editing the item

That is how it should be to useful as a timestamp and thus to be useful to various websites

Implementing this should be little work while being quite useful:

Hello

Want to do this for some time and, we need this for a current project too
- a good place to do it, was an extra "source mode" for the date field:

Added here (please test on a test server)
