Category Permissions

Hello,

I'd like to change the permissions in that way:

The user should have the possibilty to create an item in just one category.
But the user should also have the right to change the category assignment by editing the item.
In that case the item is after every saving assigned to two, three, four... categorys. (thats not the way I wanted.)

How do I have to change the rights in the right way?

Thanks a lot

Hello

it works the same way as Joomla ACL

-- only difference is that we have extra permissions that are component level only (no heritage) for being able to change category after item is created

about "same way as Joomla"
e.g.

- a not SET "EDIT" or "EDIT OWN" in Joomla Global Configuration (aka "soft" deny) means it is denied for all categories and you can enable for some specific categories

- if user belong in 4 usergroups , and you deny in one user-group, then enabling in the 3 other groups has no effect for the specific user , etc

please ready Joomla Docs about ACL

Hello,

thanks for answering.
I'm sorry, but I couldn't find a solution in your post.

Could you help me to solve the problem, to post a item just in 1! category.
No item should, be posted in two catgories...

Thanks

The user should have the possibilty to create an item in just one category.

Hello

i missed that part,

for allowing users to assign only 1 category to the item,
- go to FLEXIconten component settings "configuration" button,
- click on "Permissions" TAB
- Find the usergroup of the user, and then find ACL privelege:
Categories (Item edit Form): Assign multiple categories to items

and set it to deny

I tried it like you told me to.
See attached pictures.

What a pity, it doesn't work.

What can I do?

Hello

you change wrong permission
the permissions in the picture is about changing category assignment

to only allow submiting in 1 category, use this ACL:

Categories (Item edit Form): Assign multiple categories to items
