I have been using Joomla, JCE Editor, Community Builder and Profile Pro for about 6 months to create my site and keep having trouble with CB specifically and was ultimately told by their technical support: "Your issue is you're trying to cram so much data into a single table row. That's just not ideal. CB profiles are not Joomla articles. They have dynamic struct while Joomlas do not. CB table can end up with 100+ columns while Joomlas do not. Each column cuts into the row size limits. So the more fields, the more content in those fields, then the closer you get to those limits. Having fields that allow unlimited amount of paragraphs is going to cause you to hit these limits time and time again as users add more and more information to them."

What was happening is that I was using the CB Text-edit fields with JCE and allowing users to write multiple paragraphs within a field and upload various media such as images, video, audio and pdf files. Once multiple paragraphs and multiple media had been entered into these CB Text-edit fields, there comes a point where you can no longer update the record because the CB database has hit it's capacity and you start getting error messages when trying to update the record. It was suggested that I replace the Text-edit fields with blog or article solutions which would allow the end user to write multiple paragraphs, including media and apparently be saved outside of the Community Builder database.

I am wondering if there is a way to set up Flexicontent to meet these needs:

The super-user sets up pre-defined article "forms" that could be placed in Profile Pro modules within the CB profile. By "pre-defined" I mean that I don't want the end user just clicking a button and writing an article about any random topic. I want to define the topic for the end user and place them in the chronological order needed within the site. I have a Community Builder/Profile Pro tab for Childhood, for instance, and would like to place a blank article on that tab in which the end user could write about their childhood and add media without the limitations of a Community Builder field. The blank article would act much like a text-edit field but would actually be an article outside of Community Builder and saved outside of the Community Builder DB.

Is it possible to do anything along these lines with Flexicontent? Can you point me to some documentation that might be helpful? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks!
