Hi,

Is there any way to add custom fields in category like the one in items.I have created the fields an added it to the category template. When I apply this template for the category from the right panel there is no change in the left panel (please check the screenshot).
Is there any way to add the custom field here?

Thanks!

to add your field in category
1 go to template administration in flexicontent
2 go to category template (same you selected in your category)
3 drag and drop your field

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

Hello

micker,
i think he means not item field in category item listings

he means adding fields to category edit form

to thahir
- this is not supported
- we only support adding/attaching FLEXIcontent fields to items (item form)

FLEXIcontent are really small applications with 20 calls methods + complex FACETED filtering

-- attaching these in category edit form , maybe done in the future, currently we don't have plan for it in short-term future

lol
i understand !
an idea ...
1 create a type "super categorie" with your field
2 create a categorie : categorie text for super categorie type
3 use universal module and create a template to load all field ...(test different scope for best display)
4 in you description categorie (display categorie) do a load position of you universal module (or use nonumber component)

now your user can use super categorie type to insert content with field

Thanks @micker and @ggppdk.

Yes I mean adding fields to category edit form. In my design there is content above and below the category item list.

@micker, I will try your solution.

Thanks!

Hello

the above solution will need

1. create a new content type "Category Data"
2. Create a item of type "Category Data",
a. assign it to the desired category
b. set it to be unpublished

3. Create a FLEXIcontent universal content module
(go to Filtering slider/TAB, we call this "scopes")
a. Enable scope by content type scope and select content type "Category Data"
b. Enable item state scope and select state "Unpublished"
c. Go to Category scope set it to "ALL" and change parameter "BEHAVIOUR", setting it to "items in same category"

4. Inside the category description use Joomla content plugin loadmodule

- I think we can easily do this,
a. define in parameters a content type that will contain item having extra fields of parameters
b. allow in category edit form to select any of the above items as extra data of the category !!
