Default Root Category for Form

Hi

How is it possible to declare for "types" a predefined category root?

Means users can't select any categories nested behind the defined root.

Illustrated:
Animals-> cats ->englishcat, ->americancat,...
Animals-> dogs ->shepherd, ->terrier,...

We define "dogs" and users can only select 'shepherd', 'terrier', etc..

found, its at the menu level to be defined.

instead of using menu item (it only effects inital submitting and not editing)

it is better to use Joomla ACL

e.g. for user group "myAuthors"
set
Joomla AND FLEXIcontent Component "create" privilege to "Inherit" aka "soft deny"

then visit the desired category, whose its subtree will be allowed for assigning items and set "Create" to allow
