FlexiContent tools to have a Gaming and eSports website

Hi there,

I have a Joomla 1.5 website with GamesBox extension to have a review page like this:
imgmr.com/component/gamesbox/gam ... r-judgment

I want to migrate to Joomla 2.5 and FlexiContent as well (Gamesbox is not compatible with J2.5);

So is there in the market a FlexiContent extension that is able to get me the same result?

Hello,

FLEXIcontent can do much more than this extension but please consider these:
(there are games related sites build on FLEXIcontent)


A.
maybe there is (or maybe not) a particular feature in extension GamesBox that is unique or not exactly matched in FLEXIcontent
(most notably the reviews, you can create a review Content Type FLEXIcontent and via our relation field relate it to Game Content type, but currently the review will not be a single click task for user, it will be a 2 STEPS !!
a. click review menu item link (you add easily add such a link in your FLEXIcontent template)
b. then select the game that he wants to review

This is a 2 step thing confusing the user
(we need a little more work to make these things one step, or your developer could do it ...)


B.
A "READY" setup is not available out of the box, FLEXIcontent is a powerful content construction KIT, with many unique feature, BUT you will need to study, analyze your need, and create the fields in FLEXIcontent to match the behavior that you need

Hello,

1. the question is what you need to do to transfer data,
-- once i made a script to port sobi2 content to FLEXIcontent, and takes some time ...
(just the Gamesbox seems a lot simpler than sobi2 ...)

2. If there is an already made script to transfer most of the data to Joomla article system, then it will work with FLEXIContent too !!!
(because FLEXIcontent uses Joomla CORE article system and extends it)

-- so if the above is available then no need for extra work ...

3. If the above is not available then
a. you make the transfer manually if you do not have too many content ... and avoid cost of paying a developer to make the data transfer (you may need a developer for some custom work or maybe not)

b. you have too many content items in gamesbox and cannot do the transfer manually, so you need to get a developer to do this,
just with FLEXIcontent you get to maybe transfer all custom data of gamesbox site to FLEXIcontent Content types and FLEXIcontent fields, etc

4. So after answering the above do you really need to do this?

because it will have a cost a little or maybe more, like any custom work, do you have a budget for this?

maybe check fleximport component to check importing content
