[Alternatives] Multi-value group field

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to create a sort of "multi value group field"... I don't see how to get this behavior on the groupmaker fields (?)
I have read a lot of thing regarding multivalue group field but not exactly this kind of behavior.
(perhaps the most approaching stuff would be this feature www.flexicontent.org/forum/index ... pic#p38376 )

For example :
List of steps (ie the fields group) combining each time
- an into image
- a textarea description
- a link to a page or a video

Perhaps I miss something (?) but as far as I understood how group maker works at the moment, I need to create the max number elements of the list
==> If I provide 6 elements of each fields in a template, a publisher can create up to 6 steps. But if he wants more steps, I need to create them before he can use them.

My objective would be to have an infinite multi-step list of group fields without declaring explicitly the number of steps you could have

I thought of having the group field
Open group field
- image field
- textarea field
- link field
Close group field
... and then to have the capability of adding a "multi value" attiribute to the group field

The renderer could be something like this cook recipe

Could you confirm if it is possible to do it?
ie I don't even know if my question is a feature request or just a "how to" question! :roll:

And then a second point...
Even more general: is it possible to group some group fields? (At the end, it could look like an object as in OO programming ).

For example
Open group field "step"
- image field "intro image"
- Open group field "sub step"
- image field "sub step image"
- textarea field "description"
- Close group field "sub step"
- link field
Close group field "step"

Don't know if it is possible or if it can become a request... I let you tell me!

this has been asked before in the forum

Field can not grouped per value,
So adding value containers to all field of a group via a single ADD button is not implemented/possible

we have some thoughts of this, it maybe implemented in the future, but now it is now available

that it is, if it is important to have the group feature while using FLEXIcontent other features

- Also another alternative would be to use SEBLOD, but you will miss other features unique to FLEXIcontent, it is a trade-off , use what is best for your case

Thanks for your message. I totally understand if is not in your roadmap from now.

I think I will try to reach the same result by myself even if I will do it through a "not optimal way". I thought of using a dedicated new type for each group I have in mind, as an alternative.

Furthermore, when I had a look to the big code for image gallery, a derivative seems to be a honest way to start...!

yes i forgot to mention the above alternative, which to create a new FLEXIcontent field !!

and since you need image + plus custom properties, then best alternative for new TYPE field would be duplicating the image field and adding some extra properties is an alternative.
