SEO URL's was created by Linuus
Hi!

I have a few questions about the url's in FC.

I have the standard SEF URL turned on in Joomla and I get URL's like this:
www.mysite.com/category.html

When entering a subcategory it looks like this
www.mysite.com/category/76-subcategory.html

And when entering an item in that subcategory:
www.mysite.com/category/item/234-item.html

I want it to look like it does on the FLEXIcontent site!

I don't want to display the numbers (if it's possible... Not that important!)
I want it to be like this:
www.mysite.com/category/subcategory/item.html

(Or like this: www.mysite.com/category/76-subcategory/234-item.html , if the above is not possible)

Any ideas?

Yes, I would like to know too...
Already had a bad experience with Acesef and the Flexicontent plugin, which produced (at least for me) links that caused major errors (to items).
Which seo-component is used on this site? And which version?

To achive what you're looking for you have to make a menu entry for each page I'm afraid.
I have a website with 400+ articles and each one of them is linked in the menu. I'm using the Joomla core SEF. Then the url will look like the alias field in the menu item.

I hope that answers your question. :ugeek:

I will have 3600+, after migration, (growing steadily ;) ) so creating menu items is not an option :)

The way the Joomla! core SEF works, you need to have a menu item created for each page, with hierarchy, if you want complete SEF URL's throughout the site - regardless of whether or not the menu is published.

If you are looking for more manual control over your URL's, have you considered sh404SEF component? Can sometimes be a bear to set up and get working, not to mention we've experienced troubles at times with large duplicity, but it has always been the best exception to the core SEF that we've found.

Cheers.
