What folder permissions/rights is the components/com_fleixcontent/libraries/phpthumb/cache supposed to be set to?
The
'Set phpThumb cache permissions' seems to set all used content to 777, but that seems a bit lax.

Also, Is this one of your files?
"components/com_flexicontent/librairies/phpthumb/2>&1"

If so, what is it for? It looks like a mistyped bash expression.

Also, did you folks add the components/com_flexicontent/librairies/phpthumb/cache/.htaccess file?

Looks like i found part of the answer.
flexicontent.org/documentation/f ... ctory.html

However, it seems to me that if we are using suPHP, this directory shouldn't need 777.

Hello, i have updated the FAQ article:

-- You do not need to set the permissions of the folder, unless you have wrong ownership of your folders (ask you provider to fix this)

-- FLEXIcontent (recent revisions about r15xx+) will set folder to permission (Read-Write-Execute): 755 and files to 644, (NOTICE the no execute permission for files, also FLEXIcontent place an .htaccess with deny execute directive in this top level folder)

-- if you enable joomla FTP layer (avoid it is Slow), then you will have problem with above permissions if the FTP user is different than the user than owns the files, so make sure the FTP user is the same as the owner of the Joomla folder files, or contact you Host provider to fix

-- Flexicontent is Free but involves a big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite having a long list of functions) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?
-- Add your voice to the FLEXIcontent JED listing with a 5-star...

A related note: Quite awhile ago Sobi2 finally stopped supporting the FTP layer with their downloads plug-in after too many users had problems.
Supporting the Joomla FTP layer causes so many other issues with permissions/ownership (like this situation) that many developers have decided to simply not support it.
