Change parameters of all categories at once

Is there an easy way to change the parameters of all my categories at once?

For instance, I don't want the sub-category items to show but they are. My understanding is that I would have to go through each category and set that option in the parameters. I have over 2500 categories so this would be very time consuming unless there is a way to do them all at once. If there isn't, then this is a feature request!

you can do a copy of parameter of your categorie administration and past on all your categorie

The "Copy parameters" of the backend category manager will set ALL parameters of multiple categories to be the same as a chosen category.

This cannot be used you cannot update individual parameters, meaning that all categories will get the same configuration (all parameters).
