Run Flexicontent and Standard Articles side by side

Hi,

I am just wondering if it is possible to install flexicontent on Joomla just to create one specific category, articles etc

I would like to be able to keep existing articles, menu links as is, but would like to use flexicontent to create a small directory as part of the site.

so can flexicontent run side by side with the standard joomla article manager?

Yes, it is possible, but you have to be very careful.

Disable the FLEXIcontent system plug-in which redirects all the com_content links to FLEXIcontent.
Do not import existing content items.
Create a new section just for FLEXIcontent.
Be very careful with your menu items.
Be very careful with the modules you use as they can mix-up the links for both components.

Not sure what will happen with the Search plug-in(s).
Have to play with that one.
