In latest v1.5.6 RC8 r1486, will work without URL change:
-- com_content article links e.g generated by various modules that create article links to com_content component
-- and the com_content menu items this allows your existing module assignment to work too (thus when FLEXIcontent is installed on an existing site the com_content menu items (pointing to item) do not need to be changed)
