We are delighted to announce that the Flexicontent 4.x series is now compatible with Joomla 5. You can perform the update without any issues (please remember to create a backup beforehand and test it on a development site).

Currently, Flexicontent requires a backward compatibility plugin.

There are two user scenarios:

1. Fresh installation: Please activate this plugin before starting a fresh installation.

2. Upgrading from J4 to J5: The plugin is already activated, which is great.

We have initiated two projects:

1. A Flexicontent 4.X series that is compatible with J3-J4-J5 without the need for a compatibility plugin.

2. A completely rewritten Flexicontent 5.X series with a new MVC system for J4-J5-J6...

This will take some time, but it represents our vision for the future of Flexicontent.
