Firstly Wow, i have been trying to set up a web with about a lot of visitors per month, so have been very careful with what i use, mainly coz i border on being dumbass.

I tried various access component's paid and donated and via subscription, each failed for different reasons, mainly because i could not understand what they were trying achieve and if it is the same for what i am trying to achieve, anyways, your FLEXIaccess ROCKS, ROCKS AND ROCK it is amazing, i do have a couple of questions, but in truth i have set up 87% of what i need to do without asking a single question or reading any documentation, just the snippets you provide on your website, i am sorry for the rant but need to offload my happiness.

So question 1
JCE Editor will only allow access to upload file (graphics) when i have it added in Backend & specific permissions, but this gives the admin editor access to the actual component, i tried giving access to Flexi in JCE but that did not work, any ideas please to solve this.

Question 2

Is Flexiaccess dependent on Flexicontent? i added flexi content and then deleted it, mainly through being scared of mistakes at this late stage of development (but looking forward to installing it on one of my play sites and playing)so my question is can i give access to specific content without flexicontent. i have a specific editor (real person) who only works in one category and i have another editor who works in a specific section, both adding articles, is there a way to allow each to only have access to thier own sections/categories

>> SHOUTING LOUDLY SO YOU CAN HEAR ME OVER THE WATER THANK YOU!

Q1: No idea, maybe you have to set up the access in JCE itself with the integrated ACL in JCE...

Q2: FLEXIaccess does only works WITH FLEXIcontent and does not filter any other access in Joomla. See: www.flexicontent.org/documentati ... first.html

i used it exclusively for back end access and it works perfectly, so this must be much better than i originally thought.

it is true it's difficult to work out access to specific categories, which would explain why i cannot work this bit out.

thanks for they reply, i will install it all today and see how it works

Hi and thanks for you kind message and support ;)
Concerning JCE, I know the issue because I use it myself. In the next flexiaccess release there will be a workaround allowing to hide JCE admin in the component menu ;)
Now concerning the category, you can of course set permission to a single category, I'm not sure to understand your problem properly.
Cheers,
Emmanuel.

Thank you for your reply

I have some:

Authors front end < no problems here
Editors > back end
Publishers Back end

some of the editors show only be able to access and add content to specific categories, but they can see them all.

IE News editors, Business Editors and so on, 8 in all

Then i have 2 publishers that should be able to access everything, they can for the sole reason of not knowing how to restrict editors, so they are fine

I am also using CQI if thats any help

i hope this makes sense, so my question must be how do you give access to a specific category, please.
