Missing sub-category images in category view after updating to FC 4.2.1

Hi everyone,

After a routine update to FC 4.2.1 on joomla 3.10.12, we have noticed that images assigned to sub-categories in category view are no longer displaying-
We have not changed any parameters, therefore it appears to be a bug.

We checked all the possible layout control points (Category, Template and Menu item), but didnt find anything out of place.

We think that the bug might be related to the "Use image parameter" setting in "Sub-categories list > Image > Image Source".
If we switch to "Try parameter then extract", an image from the category description is loaded.

It must be noted that each sub-category has an Image in the category image field.

did you check browser console to check want happen ?

The JS error console is reporting an error that involves flexi-lib and jQuery, although we don't know to which extent this could explain the bug.

Correct.
Each of the blue buttons corresponds to a sub-category and should load an image above it.
I will DM you access details to the dev environment.
