FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

I was looking for this solution but one more question :

first create the new Content Type (e.g. 'Article Basic') that szallontai suggested, (with zero assigned custom fields), and then go back to item manager and click to bind the items selecting the new Content Type 'Article Basic'

ok but it will bind all the articles to "article bascic". How can I do to bind my specific category to specify content type ? I have hundreds of article of it, I cannot do it manually :/

mmm, currently you cannot filter items before binding

but we were talking of your Joomla articles that were outside of FLEXIcontent (=no extra fields needed), so you were going to bind them to "Article Basic" content Type, right?

you mean you have changed your mind and decided these items to various Content Types?
why? since, they do not need extra fields

mmm, currently you cannot filter items before binding

this is my problem... On joomla 1.5 I have 2 kind of articles :
- joomla articles managed by joomla system (no tag / no view etc...)
- Flexicontent articles managed by flexicontent component, linked to a specifica category named "database"

Now after migration, I have all my articles in joomla 2.5 (joomla content + flexi content). I installed new flexicontent but I cannot specify anymore category "database" for flexi.

Then, if I bind, I'll specify "basic article", then, I'll have a problem for my "database" articles

th only solution I see is deleting all about "database" category in joomla 2.5, do not bind anything, and use tools as flex import / migrate to move my data.

am I right saying that ?

You existing FLEXIcontent items will not change item type,

only the Joomla articles that have no FLEXIcontent Type will be "bind" to the a Content Type

so you can go ahead and bind all not-bound articles the to e.g a new Content Type "Article Basic"

well that's was I was afraid...

- I created new type
- I bind articles

>> all my articles have been linked to this new type. Old ones have been overwritten....

I have more than 1500 articles that I have to re-bind back to previous type....

this is not the right way...

and if I use a migration tool to migrate only previous content, I'm afraid that always I'll click on article management on joomla, I'll be redirected to flexicontent which will not be able to manage the "web articles" as they are not binded....

big issue there.... :/
