A new problem appears unfortunately with the edition in the front end.
The category i crtated for my test isn't displayed and i can't save changes :!:
This point was ok with the 1273 release

Hi ggppdk!

My site is not online and i can't give you access to it.
I'm working localy with MAMP.
I'll try to describe the different steps to make you understand.

In the back end

1. Fresh install of Joomla with no example datas
2. Add FlexiContent component.
3. Creation of a category (there is already a category called uncategorised)
4. Creation of a type (there is already a type called article)
5. Addition of user fields
6. Duplication of default flexi template
7. Link type to the flexi template
8. Adding content with attachement to my category.
9. Creation of a link in the Main Menu attached to my category.
10. Publication of the Main Menu, Connexion and Search Module on all pages.

Let's go to the front end

11. Click on my category link.
It displays the list of the objects (Title) i entered in step 8
12. Click on one object listed.
It displays details of the object (fields affected in the template)
13. Login as super user in the connexion module.
When authenticated, a link for edition appears.
14. Click on the edition link.
It displays the form to edit with various fields
- Title
- Alias
- Primary category drop down list
- My custom fields
15. I edit some fields.
When i want to save it asks me to select a category but the mine is not listed.
Only the uncategorised is available

That's all

1. Access to your articles (items) is not public (BECAUSE the category of the items is not public and it is inherited by the items !!!!).

The above effects searching. So, if:

-- you login (to the frontend) with a privileged account
-- or make access to the item public,
then search will work

2. If you want some extra search abilities such as searching tags and text fields

then disable plugin:
-- Search - Content
and enable
-- Search - Flexicontent standard search

-- Flexicontent is Free but involves a big effort on our part.
