why don't you use a new (testing) item in unpublish state to test this issue ?

I have installed the current test version today. Still versioning does not work.
0 Call to a member function get() on null           
It does not work with sh404sef and without

I have the same issue - 0 Call to a member function get() on null in the version popup (backend).
Plus I get the impression that the versions aren't displayed correctly: after the first save of a new article, I can see 4 versions, out of which two are the latest version and two are old (february, while now is october...)

I have another page where it isn't the case, and the versioning is configured exactly the same way - I am not using SH404SEF though (FlexiContent Version: 3.2.1.15)

easy to fix , just missed it in all the work done recently
will make a fix in the evening

That's great, and will be appreciated by many for sure.
In my case, it's not SH404SEF related though, as I haven't installed that extension.
